A lavender farm is now open to the public for five days.
Lordington Farm in Chichester is now welcoming visitors from July 10 until July 14 from 10am until 4pm, for some summer leisure in fields of lavender.
The event is supporting local charities in the area such as My Sister’s House, Chestnut Tree House and Fordwater School.
The lush purple fields of Mailette lavender flourish in the depths of the South Downs, grown and nurtured under the supervision of founder Andrew Elms. He chooses not to use fertilizers or pesticides which has allowed the purple meadow to become a haven for wildlife such as skylarks and even barn owls in the nearby farm.
Visitors are invited to walk among the fields and listen to talks with the founder about the lavender. Dogs are welcome and encouraged to come along as long as they are kept on a lead, with water bowls provided near the refreshments area.
Traybakes, tea, local strawberries and cream will be available and there will be tractors and hay bales around the farm and opportunities for photo sessions.

There is no need to book in advance.
