A dog has been rescued by police officers after almost being hit by a car.
Officers in Rother said that they saved the black spaniel after receiving reports of a dog on the loose in Battle Hill, Battle.
The officers managed to rescue the dog, which had no collar on, and take it to the vet.

It was scanned for a microchip which showed the owner's details.
The dog was then returned safely to its owner the same day.
A spokesman for Rother Police said on Wednesday: "We successfully rescued this beautiful, ball of fluff after receiving reports of it narrowly avoiding traffic on Battle Hill.
"On catching the dog, we noticed it was without a collar, so our next step was a visit to the vets to check for a microchip.
"Pleased to report, the dog was reunited with its grateful owner."
