As a Nineties nightclub plans a big return, we look back at some archive pictures of partying in Brighton

Event and Event II were clubs at the site of Pryzm in West Street, Brighton, during the Nineties and Noughties.

They will return for one night only with the original team behind the clubs taking over the site on August 10.

To make sure the original crowd are there, only over 30s are allowed.

After a sell-out first round, Pryzm has released more tickets.

Event opened in 1990 and was later refitted and reopened as Event II in 1996. It changed to Oceana for a couple of years before becoming Pryzm in 2011.

From 3pm to 8pm, revellers can expect plenty of throwbacks, with two of the original Event II DJs, Steve Taggert and Paul Johnson, on the line-up.

Even the signage and decor will look familiar.

John Pugh, marketing manager of Pryzm Brighton, said: “Over the years we’ve spoken about the possibility of creating an Event reunion and now feels the right time to do it. We’re bringing back some of the original DJs, music, atmosphere and people, only this time we’re doing it as a day party so no late night.

"Those who used to join us at Event and Event II will know that they’re in for one hell of a party and we’re excited to create the same atmosphere with faces from the past.”
