A shop is to be turned into a one-bedroom flat with its own private garden.
The empty ground-floor retail unit in Portland Road, Hove, was once home to Roots Unisex Hairdressers before it was used as an office.
The room at the front of the building will be converted into an open-plan kitchen and living room and the existing storage room to the rear will be turned into a double bedroom.

The home will have a private garden and bike storage.
A spokesman for SHW, on behalf of the applicant Perth Holdings Ltd, said: "The proposed flat will benefit from the existing corner shop front providing excellent natural light.
"The open plan kitchen/living/dining space will be a bright, well-lit space with a high floor to ceiling height, with the existing door retained as the dwelling entrance door.
"The bedroom will have an existing glazed French door that opens to a private side of property garden space, and has an additional window to the west elevation."
Brighton and Hove City Council gave prior approval to the developers on Monday.
