Two people will appear in court after a dog attack which left a pensioner with life-changing injuries.

Vic Franklin had to have his arm and leg amputated after being attacked by two rottweilers in Lewes Close in Bognor nearly a year ago.

Now, Matthew Roberts, 30, and Chloe Taylor, 27, have been summoned to court to answer charges in relation to the attack.

The pair, both from Chichester, will answer charges of being the owner or person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and causing injury.

Mr Franklin, now 78, required surgery after the attack on August 18 last year.

He later thanked NHS staff who helped to treat him and is now continuing to recover at home.

Armed officers from Sussex Police shot and killed both rottweilers following the incident.

At the time a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control.

Roberts and Taylor will appear at Worthing Magistrates' Court on August 6 charged with being the owner or person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and causing injury.
