A drone photographer has captured the beauty of sunrise from above.

Dave Mason took his drone out above Beachy Head to observe the natural beauty of the cliffs during the peace of the early morning.

Britain's highest chalk cliff offers remarkable views of the coast which are even more impressive from higher up with the drone.

The sky was streaked with vapour trails and the sun rose with orange brilliance.

Dave's sunrise snap showed the awe-inspiring perspective the cliffs give, with Eastbourne Pier in the distance paling into insignificance against the vastness of the land and the sea.

As the sun crept up higher into the sky, Dave took his drone a little further west to photograph the impressive meanders of the Cuckmere River making its way down to the sea.

He also snapped Belle Tout lighthouse and Beachy Head lighthouse. The former was decommissioned in 1902 and exists today as a bed and breakfast. In 1999, it was moved in one piece to prevent it from succumbing to coastal erosion.

Meanwhile, Beachy Head lighthouse, its replacement, still operates today and helps seafarers navigate.

A spokesman for the South Downs National Park Authority, which runs Seven Sisters Country Park, said: "Seven Sisters offers a range of excellent opportunities for walkers to enjoy this beautiful landscape.

"There are a number of footpaths and trails. Trail maps can be found at the visitor centre."
