A police car was involved in a four-vehicle crash this morning with the road closed in both directions.
A stationary Sussex Police car was assisting a broken down vehicle on the A27 Polegate Bypass when it became involved in a collision with three other vehicles.
Minor injuries were reported and the road was closed in both directions until approximately 10.30am.

Traffic was queuing from the A22 Golden Jubilee roundabout to the A22 Polegate Road Cop Hall roundabout, with the AA reporting delays of six minutes.
Traffic also began to build on the A2270 in Lower Willingdon following the closure of the bypass.
Enquiries are being carried out to establish the facts of the incident, police said.
