Military veterans were treated to fun, food and entertainment at Worthing Pier.

The group, including some from World War Two, enjoyed a trip to the coast thanks to the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans, which holds events and outings to combat loneliness.

Veterans arrived in style in a convoy of black cabs, proudly displaying their medals and badges on their suit jackets, and were greeted with cheers and applause.

They were treated to a lunch of fish and chips and an afternoon of entertainment at the Pavilion Theatre from The Not Forgotten, a charity which supports injured veterans.

There was also time for an ice cream on the pier.

The 60 veterans on Tuesday's trip also included those who served in Burma, Korea and the Far East.

The outing is organised annually to thank the heroes for their service.
