The wheel, which has 27 red open-air "gondolas", will be open every day from 10am until 8pm weather permitting.
Worthing Borough Council said passengers can see up to ten miles in all directions on a clear day.
Tickets for children under 16 cost £5 and adult tickets are £6. Family tickets for four cost £20, with group tickets for up to six people in one gondola £30.
The wheel will be in place until November 10.
