The best cafe in Brighton has been revealed after a public vote.

A diner famed for its full English breakfasts has come out on top - and its staff are delighted with the award.

The Kitchen Cafe in Trafalgar Street came out on top after more than 50 years of serving up hearty food for its customers.

The authentic location has even been used for film productions including music videos for rappers Arrdee and Central Cee.

The public voted for the cafe in recent editions of The Argus and owner Neil Boyce said he was "immensely proud" on his tenth anniversary of running the venue.

"We pride ourselves on providing delicious breakfasts and lunches," he said.

"Whilst our menu may for the most part be traditional, we strive to cater for all tastes, and appeal to not just our loyal clients but also to visitors to Brighton."

Neil added: "We are perfectly happy in our current location which we feel complements our unique style and fits so well into the North Laine vibe.

"We will continue to concentrate on our core products and menu items which remain so popular but also look at developing our daily specials and vegetarian options to reflect current and changing trends and preferences."
