A man was arrested after a fracas at a football fan zone.
Police officers swarmed Valley Gardens in Brighton at 6.40pm on Thursday to aid security staff after an incident broke out inside the Central Park fan zone before spilling out onto the street.
A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon.
Security staff swarmed to deal with the incident while England fans cheered on the Three Lions in the second half of their 1-1 draw to Denmark.
Officers detained a shirtless man outside the fan zone in York Place.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Sussex Police officers are carrying out patrols and working with partners including the security team at the Fan Park.
“This is to ensure that everyone attending the events has a safe and enjoyable experience.”
