A man has been jailed for a shoplifting spree across Sussex.

Adam Gibbs stole a tool worth nearly £60 from The Range in Ham Road, Worthing, this February.

He then took a selection of vinyl records from HMV, at The Beacon in Eastbourne on March 30.

He left the store with no intent to pay. These were recovered by staff.

On June 5, Gibbs went into a Co-op, Cricketers Parade, Worthing, and stole several food items. The stolen goods were recovered and he was arrested.

Gibbs, 33, of no fixed address admitted to all three incidents and at Crawley Magistrates' Court on June 6 was jailed for four months.

Sergeant Andy Bryant said: “This is another positive result following hard work to build the case file and secure his imprisonment.”
