A three-vehicle crash caused severe delays for motorists as the road was blocked and one driver was taken to hospital.
The crash took place this morning on the A27 near Lyons Farm Retail Park.
Emergency services attended the scene including a fire engine, an ambulance and police cars.
Traffic website AA reported long delays with traffic backing up onto the A24 Findon Road and Upper Brighton Road seeing severe delays of up to 12 minutes.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Police received a report of a collision involving three vehicles on the A27 near Lyons Farm, Broadwater, at about 7.40am on Thursday, June 20.
“One driver was taken to hospital.
“Officers are not appealing for any further information at this time.”
