A five-bed city home will become a house in multiple occupation (HMO) after plans were approved.

Brighton and Hove City Council gave the go ahead to turn the house in Little East Street, Brighton, into a shared home.

Block 3 Architects, on behalf of applicant Joseph Muscat, said no changes would be needed to the external or internal layout.

The basement would be a shared lounge area, with a shared kitchen and dining room on the ground floor.

There will two bedrooms and a shared shower room on both the first and second floors.

On the third floor there will be one ensuite bedroom with storage space.

A spokesman for Block 3 Architects said in the plans: "The proposed change of use will facilitate the use of the existing dwelling by up to five unrelated individuals, each utilising one of the existing five bedrooms, along with shared living accommodation."
