A slip road on the A27 is expected to be closed for around four weeks after a crash.

National Highways said the safety barrier on the section of the road which leads motorists heading westbound towards the A283 and Shoreham, was damaged in a single-vehicle crash on June 16.

The slip road will be closed until a new permanent safety barrier is made and installed.

A spokesman for National Highways South East said: "The period of time is due to the timescale it takes for the replacement made-to-measure permanent safety barrier to be manufactured.

"Drivers are advised to plan ahead, allow more time for their journeys, and to find alternative routes if at all possible."

The closed slip road is likely to cause delays over the coming weeks as people face diversions.

Motorists should take care on journeys and plan ahead where possible.
