A hospital building is up for two awards just one year after opening.

The Louisa Martindale Building (LMB) at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton has been shortlisted for Building Project of the Year at a prestigious industry awards event.

It has also been shortlisted for “The People’s Choice Award” at the Construction Excellence Awards.

The deadline to vote is 5pm on Thursday.

A spokesman for University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust said: "LMB has transformed patient, visitor, and staff experience at The Royal Sussex County Hospital since the building opened last July.

"It is home to more than 28 wards and departments and its impressive Welcome Space is now the new main entrance for the entire hospital campus.

"LMB was developed in partnership with our construction contractors McBains, Laing O’Rourke, BDP, and DBR Limited."
