No external changes had been made to the restaurant.

A spokesman for the branch said on Thursday: "We are back. Toby Carvery Worthing opens today after a fantastic refurbishment.

"Andy and the team are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to enjoy our superb roast, breakfast or just a drink with friends."

The refurbishment has been met with positive reaction from customers so far.

Lynne Swanson said: "We missed you all. Looks very nice."

Another customer Jennifer Bilbrough said: "Looks lovely."

Pam Clear said: "Very nice inside now and had lovely carvery this evening."

Before the refurbishment, customers had commented how the interior needed upgrading.

One customer had said it was the "only thing" that had let the restaurant down.

The restaurant is now back to its usual opening hours seven days a week.
