Police are appealing for witnesses after a spate of criminal damage to walls and roofs at homes in Sussex.

It happened at properties in Denton, Newhaven, Telscombe Cliffs and Peacehaven overnight on Tuesday.

Police said the next day men claiming to be builders working locally then arrived to offer to repair the damage in what was a possible fraud.

Officers from Lewes's Neighbourhood Policing Team and the Roads Policing Unit patrolled the area.
