A commercial building will be turned into town centre housing.

Mid Sussex District Council has approved the plans to turn Commercial House in Perrymount Road, Haywards Heath, into eight flats.

These will be a mix of five one-bed and three two-bed homes.

They will each have an open-plan living, kitchen and dining room area.

Savills, on behalf of the applicant Hornbeam Properties, submitted the proposals in May.

It said that there will be off-road parking spaces for ten cars, along with cycle stands.

Savills also said that the noise from nearby commercial properties will not be unreasonable given the town centre location of the building.

An acoustic report also found that noise inside the building would be at "acceptable levels" and would have "no adverse impact" on residents inside the block.

The plans were approved on June 10 by the council.

No start date has been confirmed for when work on the site will begin.
