An amateur theatre group will take to the stage to perform Les Misérables as the show celebrates its 40th birthday on the West End.
Brighton Theatre Group will perform at the Theatre Royal as part of a national campaign to bring the musical to theatres nationwide for its anniversary.
The show will be holding open auditions later this year for anyone wishing to take part.
The ever-popular show set in revolutionary France is celebrating four decades on the West End in 2025.
Keith Shepherd, chairman of Brighton Theatre Group, said: “What a privilege to be involved in this wonderful project.
“We’re giving our local community plenty of notice and hope you all share our excitement about this once in a generation opportunity.”
The theatre group, alongside Brighton and Hove Operatic Society, The Rattonians and Worthing Musical Theatre Company, will perform twelve times at the Theatre Royal between August 13 and 23, 2025.
The performances are part of a national campaign where 11 different amateur theatre groups will perform Les Misérables to celebrate its 40th anniversary on the West End.
Tickets for the shows will be released closer to the shows.
