A 16-year-old boy is to run between two piers to raise money for sick children.

Eli Green, from Lancing, will make the near 11-mile trek between Worthing Pier and Brighton's Palace Pier.

The 16-year-old fitness fan, who boxes at his dad’s gym BN1 Boxing in Lancing, said he is “constantly” running on Worthing and Brighton seafronts.

Eli organised the challenge and will be running with some friends and fellow boxers.

They will be raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital (Gosh) in London.

Eli told The Argus: “Gosh do wonderful and incredible things to help people. I thought there are children there who can’t do the things I can do, I feel if I can help them in any way then I should do.”

Eli hopes to get the support of people in Worthing and Brighton to help reach his £5,000 fundraising target.

He will be running with his dad Eli Green and their friends Michael Manning, Billy and Sailus Beal, Albert Brown and Alfie Lister.

At the time of writing, Eli has raised nearly £1,500.

The group will be taking on the 10.8 mile challenge on Sunday, July 7.
