A seaside village along the Sussex coast is a celebrity magnet.

West Wittering is home to more A-listers than people may know about.

One of the most famous residents in the village is Kate Winslet, who of course is best known for her role as Rose in The Titanic.

Since 2015, The Holiday actress has lived in her £4 million beachfront mansion with her husband and three children.

With no large supermarket in the village, she is known to frequently visit Waitrose in Chichester to collect groceries, however she tends to keep as private as she can.

In recent years she has expanded her estate and is rumoured to have had a swimming pool installed in the basement.

Down the road, Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards owns a place in the village.

The musician brought his 15th-century Grade II-listed cottage, called Redlands, in 1966.

Although he does not live there full time, Keith is heavily invested in village life, particularly when it comes to plans in the area, which he is known for regularly opposing.

In 2015 he opposed plans for a beach restaurant over fears it would take away the secluded feel on the seafront.

Not far from the musician is where Nicholas Lyndhurst lives, most famous for playing Rodney Trotter in the sitcom Only Fools and Horses.

Having spent most of his life living in Hampshire and Sussex, the actor is now settled in West Wittering with his wife and former ballet dancer Lucy.

The pair are frequently spotted along by the beach enjoying a walk or some lunch.

Another A-lister who owns a home in the area is Michael Ball.

The singer frequently walks along West Wittering beach with his two terriers Dylan and Danny.

He told The Telegraph in 2010 that he enjoyed many happy times in the village growing up and loves how close it is to the South Downs and Chichester, which he called a lovely city.

He also said he swims in the sea "whenever possible" and that his dogs "can go mad on the beach".

He told The Telegraph: "Another attraction for me is that outside the peak season it's so quiet and peaceful."

With A-listers living in the village, it comes as no surprise that house prices are high, with the average property costing £699,230 over the last year.
