A lido has been chosen as a filming location for a Sky Original show next month, which stars a Hollywood actor.
Saltdean Lido has announced that it has been selected as a filming location for a “large scale film production shoot”.
Between July 1 and 2, filming for Sky Original show The Death of Bunny Monro, which features Doctor Who star Matt Smith, will take place at the Brighton lido.
During the shoot, the lido’s pool and café will be closed, although season ticket holders can swim between 7am and 9am.
All other facilities will be open, however swimmers are being warned that there will be reduced parking.
The lido has said it will earn a “significant financial incentive” from the filming, which will be reinvested in its facilities, programme and staff.
Smith has been spotted across locations in Brighton and Hove while filming for the TV adaptation of the Nick Cave novel.
The Crown actor was snapped filming in a flat in Whitehawk, in Belcher’s Café in Montpelier Road and in Bedford Square.
The Hollywood actor rose to fame as the Eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who, starring alongside names such as Karen Gillen and David Tennant.
He will fill the titular role in the new Sky Atlantic series.
The lido shared a statement from the production company, which reads: “The BAFTA and Emmy-nominated actor Matt Smith (House of the Dragon, The Crown) is starring in the Sky Original adaptation of Nick Cave’s darkly comic novel The Death of Bunny Munro in the titular role.
“The six-part series written by BAFTA winner Pete Jackson (Somewhere Boy) and directed by Isabella Eklöf (Industry, Holiday), based on Nick Cave’s sophomore novel, is produced by Clerkenwell Films in association with Sky Studios.
“Multi-talented and acclaimed musician and writer Nick Cave also serves as Executive Producer.”
The Death of Bunny Monro was published by Bad Seeds singer Nick Cave in 2009, with the television show being co-produced by both the author and Smith. The show will span six episodes.
