The city's newest hotel is getting closer to its opening date as the cranes building it have come down.

Work began on the Maldron Hotel in Cannon Place, Brighton, in autumn 2022.

The new four-star hotel, set to open next month, will have 221 beds and gym facilities.

It is on what used to be part of the back of the Metropole Hotel.

The hotel, which has been developed to the tune of £55 million, will retain some Grade II listed facades and includes a bar, dining area and an open courtyard.

Maldron Hotel said that its bedrooms will provide guests with “the perfect base to enjoy instant access to Brighton’s best attractions and businesses, thanks to the hotel’s outstanding seafront location and excellent transportation links”.

Each of the rooms has air conditioning, a laptop safe and en-suite bathrooms with rainfall showers.

William Davies, director of the asset management team at Topland Group, which owns the site of the new development, said: “The new hotel will breathe new life into the Brighton seafront and provide a high-quality guest experience that will ultimately drive local growth.”

The hotel will open to guests on Monday, July 15, with a 20 per cent discount available to those booking as part of an “opening offer”.
