A university has been named as one of the greenest in the country as it was applauded for its sustainability.
The University of Sussex ranked as the eighth most sustainable university in the UK and was also hailed as among the most eco-friendly in the world.
The institution was praised for its commitment to being more sustainable in the future as it also ranked among the top universities globally on this year’s World University Rankings.
Professor Sasha Roseneil, vice-chancellor at the university, said: “At Sussex we are aiming to be one of the most environmentally sustainable universities in the world and our performance this year demonstrates the progress we are making towards this goal.”
Sussex University also ranked as the 26th most sustainable university in the world out of over 1,500 other institutions.
