An elderly man is in hospital after being attacked near a busy town centre.
The incident happened last Thursday at around 10.30am at the junction of Chapel Road and Liverpool Road in Worthing.
The man, in his 70s, suffered a serious injury and was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Police are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 70s reported being assaulted at the junction of Chapel Road and Liverpool Road in Worthing on Wednesday, May 23 at around 10.30am.
"The victim sustained a serious injury and was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains at this time.
"If you saw what happened, or have dash cam footage or CCTV of the area from around the time of the incident, we ask you to make a report.
