An outdoor cinema event will be held in the grounds of a former manor house this summer.

Picturehouse is hosting films at Preston Manor in Preston Drove, Brighton, over four weekends.

The first begins on June 21 when Barbie, Mamma Mia! and Chicago will be played on the big screen.

On the weekend of June 28, people will be able to watch Ten Things I Hate About You, Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet and Anyone But You.

The cinema will then return for two weekends in August. 

From August 16 until the 18, Little Shop of Horrors, Twilight and Jaws will be played on the big screen.

The final weekend, starting on August 23, will play Dirty Dancing, Stop Making Sense and a final film which is yet to be confirmed.

Picturehouse said each event will open at 7.30pm and the films will be played when the sun sets.

There will be a limited deckchairs available on a first come first served basis.

Tickets for each event can be purchased through Picturehouse's website and app, or in person at the Duke of York’s.

Tickets include a £5 voucher which can be spent at the pop-up bar, which will sell popcorn and other refreshments.

Picturehouse said people are allowed to take blankets, cushions and small picnic chairs.

The screenings may be cancelled if the weather is bad and refunds will be given.
