An office block is set to be turned into flats after plans were approved.

Purple Pepper Partnership submitted the plans, on behalf of Ansvar House Ltd, to Eastbourne and Lewes Councils to turn Ansvar House in St Leonards Road, Eastbourne, into 20 homes.

These would include 16 two-bedroom and four one-bedroom flats spread across four floors.

Each of these would have an open-plan kitchen and living room space and one family-sized bathroom.

The exterior of the empty building will remain the same, along with the staircase, the main corridors and the lift.

The plans state that 20 of the 24 existing car parking spaces will be kept, including disabled parking bays and extra cycle storage will be added where some parking bays used to be.

According to the proposals, the surrounding buildings are being used for residential purposes only and therefore residents in this block would not be affected by any commercial noise.

The plans were approved by the council on May 21.
