Police were called to a city park after reports of a man with a knife.
A witness said officers arrived in Preston Park, Brighton, yesterday evening after people thought they saw a person with a knife at the children's play area.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Police were called to a report of a person in possession of a knife in Preston Park, Brighton at around 8.25pm on Friday, May 24.
"Officers located and stop-searched a 17-year-old boy. No weapons were found.
"He was returned home."
