Food festivals give people the opportunity to try loads of different gastronomic delights, and there are a few taking place in Sussex during 2024.

There will be loads of festivals and events dedicated to delicious dishes and cuisines across the county over the remainder of the year.

Here are all the food festivals and events you can attend across Sussex for the rest of 2024.

Chichester Cheese & Chilli Festival

The Chilli Cheese Festival will be returning to Chichester in 2024, taking place over the weekend of June 22-23.

As the name suggests there will be a wide variety of cheese and chilli products for attendees to sample, alongside chilli eating competitions and challenges.

The festival will also have plenty of entertainment including live music, wrestling and a mini funfair.

Food, Drink & Makers Festival

Taking place on the grounds of the East Sussex National Hotel in Uckfield, the Food, Drink and Makers Festival will bring together many local craft and produce stalls.

It will occur on Saturday, June 29 from 11am to 3pm with the entry cost being a voluntary donation.

The website adds: "Live music, face painting and free games and crafts are supplied by the LSC from the Chailey Heritage Foundation."

All funds raised from the day will support Chailey Heritage Foundation.

Rye Food & Drink Festival

The Ryde Food & Drink Festival will be returning to the Rye Salts Event Space for a second year, with it taking place from Friday, July 5 to Sunday, July 7.

Its website adds: "A great selection of local, national and international stalls offering scrumptious street foods, great grocery foods and quirky arts and crafts.

"This unique shopping experience will be complemented by a range of entertainments for the whole family including live music, a variety of activities for children, an alfresco dining area and bars of distinction for liberal libations."

BBC Good Food Festival

The BBC Good Food Festival will be taking place from August 16-18 this year at the Goodwood Racecourse in Chichester.

Its website adds: "Tantalise your taste buds and explore our award-winning vendors in the grounds of Goodwood, including Halloumi Bite, The Little Orange Van, Supreme Sausage, Kokodoo, NapolEat, Crispy Duck and more."

Several top chefs such as Jane Dunn, Ruby Bhogal and Becky Excell will be making an appearance whilst there will also be live cooking demonstrations, live music, Q&As and drinks masterclasses.
