A driver smashed through a railway level crossing during a high speed police chase.
The car failed to stop after crashing through barriers at Berwick station, near Polegate.
Police are still hunting for the car and driver following the failed chase just after 11.30am on Thursday.
The car – a blue Alfa Romeo Stelvio V6 – is believed to be stolen and using cloned registration number plates.
Station Road was closed for hours and trains could not serve the station while engineers worked to check if it was safe.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "The road either side of Berwick railway station is likely to be closed for several hours after a car collided with the level crossing barriers.
"The vehicle – which was being pursued by police – made off from the scene without stopping and attempts to locate it are ongoing."
Police have appealed for witnesses: "Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to report it online or call 101, quoting serial 481 of 16/05."
