Two kayakers in distress were found struggling at sea on one of the hottest days of the year.
RNLI Eastbourne crews were called to carry out a search in Eastbourne Bay shortly before 6.15pm.
After launching, the team were told that the two kayakers had been seen struggling in the water by a nearby boat.

They were rescued onboard the vessel and taken to shore to be seen by ambulance crews.
A spokesman for RNLI Eastbourne said: "Fortunately, just as the crew launched, information had been received that a fishing vessel had located the two kayakers struggling in the water and recovered them to their vessel and returned them to shore into the care of the ambulance service.
"When heading out on the water please make sure you have a radio or a charged mobile phone in a waterproof pouch in case of emergencies and if possible let someone on land know what time you plan to be back."
