Two people were saved from an old shipwreck.
Coastguards found two "extremely vulnerable" people on top of the wreck in Camber Sands, Near Rye.
The RNLI and Pett Lifeboat were called to the scene just before 7pm on Tuesday where they found the two people, one with injuries, at risk with the water rising around them.
A spokesman for the Pett Lifeboat said: "We launched within 20 minutes across a low tide and treacherous soft sand and mud and were on scene just a few minutes later.
"Alongside HM Coastguard Rye Bay, HM Coastguard Romney Marsh, police and ambulance teams, everyone worked hard to manage a difficult situation."
They brought the two casualties onto their boat and took them to shore where ambulance crews were ready.
Two members of the RNLI crew in Rye were at birthday celebrations at the pub when their pagers went off. They assisted on shore with the boat's launch.
The wreck is of Belgian-flagged trawler Veerman, which sank off the coast of nearby Dungeness in 1990.
