We received a great range of images from camera club members for our April competition.
People were tasked with finding beauty in the everyday and had to submit a picture on the brief of “squares”.
As ever, it was tough to pick just a few runners-up and crown one snapper the winner.
This month’s theme saw a wide array of entries but there was a common theme of beautiful architecture.
We loved Tony Bent’s image on Worthing Pier of the sunlight peering through the stained glass at dusk.
We were also fans of Annette Mary Radford’s submission of tulip squares at Tulley’s Farm.
Ross Milne’s “anyone for tennis?” entry at Preston Park tennis courts was also impressive.
And Philip Evans' entry of the black and white tiled steps in Brunswick Terrace scored double points.
We also liked Andy Webb’s entry of Shoreham Harbour at dusk.
A very close second has to be Emma J Crosby’s “back streets of Brighton” which captured a stunning mural on the side of a house.
But this month’s winner has to be Sophie Jasmin Mitchell’s “reflective squares of colour” on Hove promenade which captures our city’s beautiful beach huts.
With Brighton Fringe coming to town this month, we decided that our May picture competition will be to find an image on the theme of “performance”.
Capture a picture fitting the brief before May 31 to be in with a chance of winning our £50 prize.
It doesn't have to be related to Brighton Fringe or Festival and it can be anywhere in Sussex.
Post your entry on The Argus Camera Club Facebook page, mentioning where it was taken. It is one entry per person.
Congratulations to Sophie.
