People are invited to join a hiking challenge this summer.
The organisers want to highlight the physical, mental and social benefits of walking.
The 24km event, on June 1, is suitable for experienced hikers. It begins in Hassocks and will pass through the South Downs National Park, Ditchling, Stanmer Park and Falmer and end in Brighton.
It is being run by hiking and adventure travel group Outdooraholics.
Graham Turnbull, from the group, said: “Hiking offers an escape from our tech-filled and often dominated lives. It allows people to get back to nature.
“We decided to organise this one because the South Downs are a national gem. For those living in the South East, this gem is on our doorstep and available to all for free. Also, Brighton, which is considered by many to be the greatest city on the South Coast, has easy and direct access to the South Downs”
After reaching Brighton, hikers will explore the city for an hour, going to The Lanes and the beach.
Outdooraholics organises this challenge every two months, one-day hiking trips across the South East and international hiking holidays.
Tickets for the June event, which is expected to take about six hours, cost £33.
