Coastguard crews were called to an incident on the river.
A boat near the Old Toll Bridge on the river Adur in Shoreham was sinking this afternoon.
Shoreham RNLI's inshore lifeboat was also launched.

A spokeswoman for HM Coastguard said: "HM Coastguard was alerted of an incident at around 11.15am today, April 27, near Shoreham.
"A fishing vessel that had gone adrift. Shoreham RNLI lifeboat and Shoreham coastguard rescue team were tasked. Nobody was on board at the time of the incident and HM Coastguard was stood down."
