STUDENTS enjoyed a trip to the Big Apple.
A total of 38 students from Uplands Academy in Wadhurst visited New York and explored the city’s landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty and Times Square.
Students gained insight into American history by visiting the National September 11 Memorial and Museum and listened to a talk by Dorothy Zellner, a veteran of the Civil Rights Movement.
Louise Lomax, from Uplands Academy, said: “The trip was a truly unforgettable experience that enriched the student's understanding of history, culture, and the world around us.
“They returned with memories that will last a lifetime and a renewed sense of curiosity and wonder.”
Pupils also visited the Top of the Rock, an observatory on the Rockefeller Center, to see the New York skyline.
Mrs Lomax said: “Exploring the cultural diversity of the city was truly eye-opening for all the students and gave a glimpse into American urban life. From the streets of Harlem to the vibrant energy of Times Square, every corner of the city seemed to be full of excitement.”
Upland Academy students also visited American eateries such as Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and Ellen’s Stardust Diner.
