Last Saturday, on the evening of the 20th of April, my family visited ‘Blue Sardinia’, an Italian restaurant in Guildford. Boasting 4.7/5 stars from 284 Google reviews, it seemed like the perfect place to celebrate a birthday.
Indeed, it was “exceptional” as Guy Allen stated: he was amazed at the quality of the “very good” and “thoughtful” service even though there were 12 of us and the rest of the restaurant remained busy and lively. He went on to explain that the staff “gave us a lot of time and consideration” and were always happy to help.
The menu itself was “comprehensive” but not too long, and Mr Allen enjoyed the “struggle to choose something” because he was intrigued by everything he saw on the menu. He also valued the option of a separate vegan menu to accommodate everyone’s preferences.
Mr Allen eventually chose the scallops to start, the steak for his main course and the Sardinian cheese fritters for dessert. He commented that everything was “delicious” and that he “couldn’t fault anything”. The scallops were “really, really enjoyable” and he found the steak “delightful”.
The service was excellent, the staff friendly and knowledgeable on the food and drinks and the restaurant itself had a lovely atmosphere. The restaurant spans two floors which means it doesn’t feel too crowded wherever you sit. There is a great selection of both food and wine, drawing upon Italian and Sardinian flavours and inspiration.
It is a fantastic restaurant, both for smaller gatherings and meals as well as larger celebrations.
