A drunk man was spared jail after driving at more than 100 miles per hour with a child in his car, before crashing in one of the "worst pieces of driving" police have seen.
Miley Connors, from Hambrook near Chichester, was spotted driving in his Mercedes SUV swerving between traffic and speeding on the hard shoulder.
The 37-year-old even caused a hospital patient to faint due to his "vile language" after being arrested.
Connors was travelling on the M40 southbound towards Buckinghamshire with a child in the car on December 29, 2021.
He then hit the central reservation on the Shabbington bend, causing the car to spin and lose a tyre at around 4.10pm.
Connors then continued on to the overbridge near Worminghall, where he got out of the car and started urinating.
Police searched for Connors and the child, even using a helicopter, and they soon found them nearby.
The child had escaped from the car onto the motorway embankment, and was taken in by officers after being found "wet, muddy, and cold" standing over Connors, throwing up, who was not able to look after them.
Thames Valley Police released footage showing the moment Connors was arrested.

Connors was handed a two-year jail sentence, suspended for two years, and was disqualified from driving for two years.
He will have to pass an extended retest in order to get his licence back.
Investigating officer PC Amy Boughton, of the joint operations roads policing unit, said: "This was one of the worst pieces of driving I have ever seen.
"Not only is it shocking to watch, it’s gut-wrenching to know there was a young child in that vehicle, scared and crying.
"The child was found wet, muddy and cold, and stood over Miley Connors, who was throwing up and incapable of looking after them.
"I can only hope that Connors takes this second chance and makes recompense for the lives he could have so easily taken because of his reckless actions."
The dangerous driver must also complete 250 hours of unpaid work, 120 days of alcohol monitoring, and a thinking skills programme within 20 days.
He has been fined £3,000.
