A small terrace home will be turned into a house in multiple occupation (HMO) despite dozens of objections.
Plans have been approved by Brighton and Hove City Council to turn 71 Eastbrook Road in Portslade into a six-bed home.
This means the four-bed property will undergo a loft conversion and a rear expansion to accommodate the extra rooms, as well as internal adjustments.

According to the plans, there will be two ensuite bedrooms on the ground floor, along with an open-plan kitchen, dining and living space.
The first floor will have a further two ensuite bedrooms, an additional toilet, and a laundry utility room.
The loft space will be converted into two more bedrooms with a shared bathroom.
The house will also have outdoor space and cycle storage.
After the plans were first submitted, there was a wave of objections from neighbours.
One neighbour said: "The noise of what could be six people and their partners and families coming and going in a very quiet street of small families, for us would be too much, including all the parking which is also very difficult.
"This would also have an effect on the value of my property, of which I look after my kids on my own as a widowed father."
Another person said: "The property in question is way too small for six bedrooms and six bathrooms, it's clearly being developed to take advantage of people in desperate situations.
"Parking is already a nightmare in the street, the addition of six new residents with vehicles is unthinkable."
One more individual who lives on the street said: "The neighbours' houses are occupied by small families with children.
"They own their homes and moved there for a peaceful existence, not to live next to what would be as busy as living next to a block of flats.
"Where will six adults' cars or motorbikes go? Parking is already difficult and stressful for residents.
"This is really not acceptable, it would be so overcrowded."
The approval comes after plans for another HMO in the same road were withdrawn after receiving a number of objections.
