Plans have been made to replace a derelict industrial building with eight new homes.
If approved by Adur District Council, the former Goatchers laundry facility, in Alma Street, Lancing will be completely demolished to make way for the new houses.
As part of the plans, applicant South Coast Developments Ltd said the new development would include six semi-detached and two detached properties that are all the same style.
Seven of these townhouses would have three-bedrooms and one would have four-bedrooms.
They would each have a private garden and patio area.

As well as the houses, which developers said will be "modern and energy efficient", the site would also have eight parking spaces.
There would also be space for bikes to be kept.
A spokesman for Lewis and Co Planning, on behalf of the applicants, said: "The redevelopment of the site will have a transformational effect on the visual quality of the Alma Street street scene and provide new residential activity and community on a street currently dominated by a vacant brownfield site, improving the overall sense of place and positively contributing to economic, environmental and social strands of sustainability.
"The site is also highly sustainable in terms of its location and access to existing facilities and services and will make a meaningful contribution to local housing needs."
The commercial laundry company stopped trading at the site in 2010 after moving to a new site near Shoreham Airport.
No other business has taken over the building in Alma Street since and the unit "has since fallen into dereliction".
The developers also argued that turning the site into homes would stop a "less neighbourly commercial use" from being reintroduced to the area and disrupting residents.
A spokesman for the developers said: "The proposed family-sized dwellings are appropriate for the location and will help encourage an improved sense of community and sense of place within Alma Street."
A decision on whether to approve the plans is set to be made by June 3.
