A café has won an award for being the best in Brighton.
Independent neighbourhood café Starfish and Coffee, in Egremont Place, was named the best café in the city at the 2024 Brighton Restaurants Awards Vote Online (BRAVO).
After winning last week, the owners of the café took to social media and said they were "over the moon".

They wrote: "This is just incredible news, we’ve won in the Brighton restaurant awards.
"The whole team works so hard to be the best in every aspect of what we do, so to win best café which recognises not only our food, but our coffee and drinks, the service, our atmosphere, and our place in the local community, means so much to us.
"We’re absolutely over the moon about this.
"We really have the best customers so thank you to everyone who voted and also huge thanks to the whole team who made that happen.
"We also came third for "best brunch" and seventh for "best team". There are so many great places to eat and drink in Brighton, so to place so highly in all three just blows our minds.
"We’ve now won five BRAVOs and will keep on pushing to get better and better.
"Congratulations to all the other winners and those who did really well. We’re so spoilt in this wonderful city.
"Thank you again, and as a last comment please keep supporting local independent businesses. Awards or not, it’s tough out there at the moment."
The café, near Queens Park, serves breakfast and brunch.
Some items on the menu include cooked breakfasts, eggs benedict and topped pancakes.
Vegetarian and vegan options are also available at the café.
The café also serves a number of cocktails including aperol spritz and espresso martini.
It uses produce from Sussex and other counties from the south.
This includes free-range eggs from a farm near Lewes, coffee beans roasted in Brighton by Skylark Coffee and meat from Bodiam, near Hastings.
Other award winners for the 2024 BRAVO's include Terre à Terre, in East Street, Brighton, who won best restaurant in the city.
