A longstanding seafront nightclub is to be replaced with a “rage room” and games bar.

Coalition in King's Road Arches has closed its doors and will be replaced by Players Battle Bar when it opens in April.

The new bar will see axe throwing, beer pong and a “rage room” brought to Brighton seafront.

Players owner Albie Saliba said: “There’s nothing like this in Brighton. It’s moving with the times and is a completely different concept that covers everyone.

“It’s ultra-modern, we’ve spend a lot of money on a refurb and we have gutted the place and started again.

“We want it to be an area where students, families and anyone can come and enjoy themselves.”

Players is set to open on April 6 saying that it will offer pool tables, karaoke, beer pong and shuffleboard.

It will also offers Brighton’s first “rage room” – a confined space where customers wear protective gear and smash objects with baseball bats.

The two rooms are decorated with large murals of Donald Trump and Boris Johnson.

Players will also show live sport with plans to screen the European Championship football tournament this summer.

The former nightclub has been given a £500,000 facelift to modernise the interior and exterior of the building.

The rage room is priced at £50 for two people for half an hour. Other activities range from £12 to £70.

The space replaces Coalition, a longstanding Brighton seafront nightclub established in 2011.

The club was previously run by Eclectic Bars, an offshoot of the Brighton Pier Group, but has since been sold to Park Direct UK who also previously operated Shooshh.

Players Battle Bar will open on April 6.
