A woman has died after emergency services were called to an incident.

Emergency services were called because the woman was in medical distress at a home in Skylark Avenue, Peacehaven, yesterday afternoon. A man is now in custody.

A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: "Despite the efforts of paramedics, the woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death and is in custody.

"Enquiries are ongoing and there is no further information at this time."

Around eight police cars were at the scene last night and forensic officers were called to the scene.
