Brighton and Dyke Railway Trail

This 8.4-km out-and-back trail is considered to be a moderately challenging route which takes around two hours and 20 minutes to complete.
This path follows the old line of the Brighton and Dyke Railway from Aldrington Halt to Devil's Dyke Station.
It is mainly a mixture of public footpaths and bridleways, and there is a pub (Devil's Dyke Public House) near the turnaround point if you want to break up the walk.
Stanmer Woods and Ditchling Road

This 5.5km walk is considered a moderately challenging route which should take around one hour and 45 minutes to complete.
It adds: "This is a pleasant countryside trail taking in a mix of farmland and woodland as you make your way through the fields, Flim Heap, Green Broom, and Highpark Wood. Keep an eye out for wildlife and listen out for birdsong."
Castle Hill Nature Reserve

This 7.4km circular trail is considered a moderately challenging route which should take just under two hours to complete.
It adds: "Beautiful countryside paths with coastal views and seasonal wildflowers, only a stone's throw away from all of the excellent amenities that Brighton has to offer.
"This route starts in Woodingdean and there is also parking available here. Enjoy the scenery!"
Kingston-near-Lewes Circular

This 8km circular trail is considered a moderately challenging route which should take around two and a half hours to complete.
It adds: "This trail is fantastic and an excellent choice for an unforgettable experience. Starting in a pleasant village with a fantastic pub and other facilities, it was [sic] an excellent hill with spectacular views."

Hollingbury Hillfort Circular

This 4.2km circular trail is considered a moderately challenging route which should take around an hour and 10 minutes to complete.
It adds: "This trail offers a lovely outing for history buffs and nature lovers alike as you make your way past the woodlands and golf course and around Hollingbury Hill Fort.
"There is a variety of birds to spot and listen out for so keep an eye out as you make your way along."
