A new nail bar and café could open if plans are approved.
The proposals, which have been submitted to Brighton and Hove City Council, are to convert the ground floor and basement at 32 St James's Street.

According to design plans, there would be a reception, a waiting area, a bar seating area and a nail and pedicure section on the ground floor of the retail unit.
The basement area would be used as a staff room for employees.
The proposals do not indicate where the cold food café would be on the ground floor, however the applicant said there would be no need for any external alterations to the building.
A consultation is underway and a decision is set to be made by May 1.
The retail unit was previously used by Werks, a space for craft makers to use communally.
It is next door to the Bulldog bar which is the oldest gay bar in Brighton.
It recently reopened under new management in January.
