Work to turn a car park into a site for council homes has begun.
The South Street car park, in Lancing, closed earlier this month after plans to build new council homes on the site were approved.
Adur District Council said on Wednesday that contractors are now on the site and have started removing lighting columns and laying the groundwork.

The houses, which will be a mix of one and two-bedroom properties, will be used by people on the council waiting list.
They will each have a garden for residents to use.
A council spokesman said: "They will be used as temporary accommodation for families with nowhere to stay who we would otherwise have to find rooms for in B&Bs in short-term lets or outside the district.
"We hope the first Adur residents will be able to move into the new South Street homes in March 2025."
The project is part of an initiative to turn under-utilised sites into housing developments.
