The first completely affordable housing development in a town has been completed.
Wealden District Council said that the new development in Cart Barn Place, Heathfield, is made up of 15 homes that are 100 per cent affordable.
These semi-detached properties are now home to people on the council's housing register.
They include six one-bedroom flats, two two-bedroom flats, three two-bedroom houses and four three-bedroom houses with rent prices that are 20 per cent below market rent prices.

The new semi-detached homes were the combined work of Wealden District Council’s housing development team, Trinity Homes Ltd and architectural firm Baily Garner.
The design of the properties retains the original barn link with the use of traditional local materials, high-quality landscaping, a natural pond area, wildflower planting and a log pile to encourage wildlife.
The scheme has also provided speed reduction works to the area to protect residents and wildlife.
Deputy leader of Wealden District Council Rachel Millward, Alliance for Wealden (Green Party), and lead councillor for housing and benefits, said, “I am delighted with this development which has enabled residents on our housing register to find sustainable, well designed and affordable homes.
"I had the privilege of viewing these homes as they were being built – they are excellent. I hope they bring families and individuals much happiness.”
