A woman has been airlifted to hospital after being bit by a car.
The woman suffered serious injuries after the car crash earlier this morning.
Chichester Road in Bersted near Bognor remains cordoned off following the collision and officers remain at the scene.
A Sussex Police spokesman said they were called to the road just before 7am this morning.
The force said: “Emergency services are responding to a serious collision in Bersted.
“Police were called to Chichester Road at around 6.40am this morning (19 March) to a report of a woman being hit by a car.
“She has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
“Chichester Road remains closed at this time and drivers are advised to find alternative routes.
“Witnesses or anyone with any information or footage is asked to contact Sussex Police online or call 101 quoting Operation Kinsale.”
Chichester Road remained closed this morning with officers cordoning off the road near New Barn Road.
An air ambulance landed shortly after and was seen flying towards the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton this morning.
