A man has been charged with abducting a teenage girl.

James Wadhawan is accused of being with the child on Wednesday, March 13, on a bridge near the A27 in Lancing.

Wadhawan, 34, was arrested by Sussex Police officers.

Sussex Police have since charged Wadhawan, of Fetherston Road in Lancing, with detaining a child as to keep her from a person having lawful control. He was remanded in custody.

Wadhawan will appear at Crawley Magistrates' Court later today.
